Open Question: What are some good composting tips?

I bought a house a few months ago and I'm very excited to start a garden in the spring. I figured that I should probably start working with the area now though.. I want to try to compost as much as I can, but I'm not sure the best way to go. I have looked in to compost tea, worm composting, and just having a compost bin. I am looking for tips and opinions on this matter. Also, I read somewhere that "green" matter, like coffee grinds and fruit peels and stuff like that can just be buried at least 8" down, so can I just skip all the "messy" work and just turn the soil and put my compost underneath like that? Thanks in advance!! Interesting! so you didn't have to do anything else? Don't open it, or add holes or anything? That sounds great! Thank you! :)

Open Question: i got an answer, but it wasn't quite right for my transplanting?

ok, so now i know that the plant wasn't starved of oxygen, because it is coming out of it sleep pattern now, but one half still stays dormant, and i can't figure why. it is still alive, i know that, because it isn't all wrinkled and dead. like the other ones that i killed before these three. the mud is dirt, it just has to have a lot of water cause if i let it stay down for too long, the plant gets mad then starts to die. it is a curly willow, but it is weird, only one half shows leaves the other stays asleep. why is that? everything is bent around this willow, all of its needs, all my time, everything, i have made everything spicific to what it needs, so why is only one half coming out of dormancy? i did a clip test too, and the clipping from the side coming out of dormancy now, is doing so in the same timing as the original plant, but the one from the side not coming out of dormancy, is growing roots, and some shoots at the bottom. what now?
